Utrecht University: OMPT requirements by programme

Utrecht University is the easiest OMPT policy on this list to state and one of the harder ones to meet. Exactly two programmes accept the test: Economics and Business Economics at the Utrecht School of Economics, and the jointly-run Philosophy, Politics and Economics. Both want OMPT-A at 75%, and nothing else at the university takes an OMPT result at all.

That 75% puts Utrecht in the top band alongside Maastricht's business school and Nyenrode. On a 52-question paper it means you can miss roughly thirteen questions, and the OMPT gives no partial credit — a right method with a wrong final answer scores zero. The compensation is that Utrecht counts up to three attempts, so a first sitting used as a calibrated diagnostic is a legitimate strategy here, unlike at the one-attempt universities.

Both programmes also accept Boswell-Beta and CCVX certificates (Maths A or B) as alternatives. Those are course-plus-exam routes that take longer but suit students who want structured teaching rather than self-study. If you go the OMPT route, my benchmark is simple: do not book the real test until a timed practice mock puts you at 85%.
