Which OMPT variant to sit for Turku UAS when any counts

Free choice of variant is a gift, so use it deliberately: sit OMPT-C. It is the shortest syllabus of the seven (algebra, a little geometry, 30 questions in two hours) and at a 55% bar it is the least preparation for the same admission outcome. The only reason to sit anything heavier is if another university on your application list demands a specific letter, in which case one sitting of that variant can serve both. An engineering applicant who also wants LUT, for instance, would sit the B and use the same certificate twice. What Turku UAS accepts instead of the OMPT

The SAT is the published test alternative: at least 400 in Reading and Writing and 400 in Math, post-March-2016, sent under College Board code 6867 and delivered by the intake deadline. The ACT, A-levels and AP are not listed for the rolling route. There is also a certificate-plus-English route with country thresholds, for example Brazil ENEM 60%; India CBSE or CISCE GPA 60% with maths or economics 60% (80% for state boards); Türkiye GPA and maths at 55% or 3/5; Vietnam GPA 6.5 and maths 7.0; and IB grade 3 in most maths courses (grade 5 in Applications and Interpretation SL or Mathematical Studies). Finnish matriculation holders use the joint application from 7 to 21 January 2027.

Note that Turku's August 2027 separate application, currently on the same page, is a certificate-plus-online-interview route for 39 countries and does not use the OMPT at all. Read the heading of the route you are applying under; the OMPT belongs to the rolling admission, not the separate application.

Turku UAS OMPT deadlines and how the score reaches the university

Turku does not ask you to upload the OMPT certificate; it reads the score from the OMPT database. Its page says the scores must be available to Turku UAS in the database by the given deadline, and that an application is complete only when the OMPT scores have arrived from there. So the sequence is: register for the test with Turku UAS selected, sit it, wait for grading (about eight business days on the standard track), check that the result is shared, then submit the online application. Decisions follow within two weeks of the scores arriving.

For the January 2027 intake the score deadline was 17 September 2026, two days after applications closed. For the August 2027 window (applications 30 October 2026 to 15 April 2027 on the BBA page) expect the same shape: a score deadline a day or two after the application deadline, with programmes closing early when full. Rolling admission cuts both ways. There is no single date to plan around, but places go as applications arrive, and the BBA programmes were marked full well before the August 2026 window closed.

Tuition, and what to do if you fail the OMPT for Turku UAS

Tuition for non-EU/EEA/Swiss students is €12,000 a year for programmes starting January 2026 or later, with a €1,000 early-bird reduction on the first year for joint, separate and rolling admission, and scholarships of €4,000 per level tied to Finnish language certificates in later years. The BBA in Business Administration is 210 ECTS over 3.5 years on the Kupittaa campus in Turku; the engineering degrees are 240 ECTS.

Turku publishes no attempt cap and no validity period, so the OMPT's own rules apply (generally up to three attempts, each a fresh fee) and the deadline is the constraint. A week of C-syllabus revision and a timed practice mock is usually all this route takes, so a failed first attempt at 55% is almost always a pacing or rust problem rather than a content gap; the common algebra mistakes note lists the usual culprits. If the calendar has run out, the SAT route needs only 400 per section, and the next rolling window is never far away.
