Nyenrode Business Universiteit asks for OMPT-A at 75% for its full-time BSc in Business Administration, which puts this private business school in the same top band as Maastricht's SBE and Utrecht. Unlike Maastricht there is no review buffer below the line, and unlike Utrecht's three attempts, Nyenrode counts two at most. The programme page is explicit about who sits it: Dutch HBO-propedeuse holders always, IB applicants with Applications and Interpretation SL or Math Studies, and anyone whose maths grade does not meet the admission criteria.

Two attempts at a 75% bar is a combination that punishes optimism. The 52-question OMPT-A allows roughly thirteen wrong at that level, with no partial credit, and the per-question pace is under two and a half minutes. My booking rule for Nyenrode applicants is the same one I use for Maastricht: a timed practice mock at 85% before you spend anything on the real test. That ten-point cushion absorbs the exam-day tax that proctoring, nerves and an unfamiliar interface reliably collect.

Nyenrode also says the quiet part: successfully passing the maths test means you meet the mathematics requirement, but it does not guarantee a place in the programme. Admission runs on an interview and a personality test with limited places, and the programme costs €25,000 in the first year.

What Nyenrode accepts instead of the OMPT-A

The diploma routes are detailed. Dutch VWO: Mathematics A or B with a 6, and English with a 6. IB (full diploma): Analysis and Approaches SL at 5 or HL at 4, Applications and Interpretation HL at 5; AI SL and Math Studies trigger the additional test. GCE: three A-levels at AAB including mathematics (at most one language), three (I)GCSEs at A* to B, and mathematics at grade B or better at both AS and A-level. US: four APs at grade 4 including AP Calculus AB or BC at 4; SAT and ACT are not accepted. European Baccalaureate: five hours of maths at 7 or three hours at 8. Belgian ASO with an economy or maths profile at 70% in maths, or CESS with five hours of maths or science at B. Predicted grades earn a conditional letter.

If self-studied test-taking is not your strength, Nyenrode accepts two structured alternatives, each with a two-attempt cap of its own: the Boswell-Beta exam, which Nyenrode notes requires in-person attendance for classes and the exam, and the Korteweg-de Vries Institute's VWO certificate in Mathematics A or B. CCVX is not mentioned. In exceptional cases a colloquium doctum procedure can consider applicants who miss the regular criteria.

Nyenrode OMPT deadlines and how to submit the result

The 2027-28 calendar has two dates: a first application deadline of 15 January 2027 and a final deadline of 1 May 2027, with the programme starting in mid-August 2027. There is no EU/non-EU split, and Nyenrode runs Admission Days every two to four weeks with limited places, so earlier is better. No separate OMPT date is published; the sequence Nyenrode describes is apply online, complete your file in the Nyenrode Admissions Portal (OSIRIS), take the LTP personality test at home, then send your results and schedule your interview. Have the OMPT-A certificate in hand before that interview.

Register at omptest.org selecting Nyenrode Business University and the BScBA programme, as the page instructs, so the result is linked correctly. Nyenrode publishes no validity period; if your result is from an earlier cycle, ask admissions whether it still counts. Outcomes are directly admitted, conditionally admitted, or rejected.

What the Nyenrode bachelor costs

Nyenrode is private and prices accordingly: €25,000 in the first year, €26,500 in the second and €28,000 in the third, an average of about €25,500 a year, plus a €175 application fee, €750 to €900 a year in course materials, and housing on the Breukelen estate at €360 to €700 a month. The programme is English-taught, three years, 40 hours a week, on the Breukelen and Amsterdam campuses.

Against that budget the OMPT's €240 fee is small, which is exactly why a casual first attempt is a false economy: the second attempt is your last, and a wasted one costs you the programme, not €240. Read the passing scores note for why margin matters at 75%.

What to do if you fail the OMPT for Nyenrode

If the first attempt misses 75%, the second is the last Nyenrode counts on the OMPT. Read the per-topic breakdown, fix the chapters it names, run timed mocks until one clears 85%, and only then rebook.
