Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation OMPT requirements: programmes, scores, deadlines

CSII lists OMPT-B at 65% among the maths qualifications for its international BAScii programme in the 2026 international round, next to SAT, ACT, IB and A-Level options. For the August 2027 intake the OMPT-B minimum rises to 81% under a pre-announced revision.

Chulalongkorn University's School of Integrated Innovation in Bangkok, the only institution outside Europe in this table, lists OMPT-B at 65% among the maths qualifications for the International Round of its BAScii programme, the Bachelor of Arts and Science in Integrated Innovation, in its Academic Year 2026 announcement. The OMPT sits alongside a menu of alternatives: SAT Math 600, ACT Math 25, CU-AAT Math 580 (the university's own test), IB Higher Level Mathematics at 5, A-Level Mathematics at B, Gaokao Math 70, HKDSE Level 4, GSAT 10 or Russian EGE 70. The rule is for non-Thai citizens; the Thai-citizen rounds list SAT, ACT and CU-AAT only.

The number is about to move. CSII published a heads-up in September 2025 that the minimum maths scores rise from the August 2027 intake, and the attached university memo gives the figures: SAT Math 650, ACT Math 29, CU-AAT 650, IB HL 6, A-Level A, and the OMPT-B minimum raised from 65% to 81%. CSII calls it advance information, and the formal 2027 announcement had not appeared when this page was checked, but a 2027 applicant should plan for 81% until it does.

With that many routes, the OMPT-B is rarely the first choice; most BAScii applicants come from international schools already holding an SAT, IB or A-Level result. Where the B earns its place is for students without one of those, because it books online year-round with 72 hours' notice rather than waiting for a test date at a physical centre.

What OMPT-B at 65%, and at 81%, actually involves

The B is 64 questions in 150 minutes over a syllabus that includes trigonometry and integration on top of the algebra-through-differentiation core, with no partial credit. Sixty-five percent is 42 right, comparable effort to the SAT 600 it substitutes for. Eighty-one percent is 52 right, which is a different order of preparation: at most twelve wrong across the whole syllabus, and the trigonometry and integration chapters can no longer be treated as optional. The OMPT-B page has the chapter list and a free timed mock; the is OMPT-B harder than A note quantifies what those chapters cost.

If your other scores fall just short of the listed lines, a focused OMPT-B campaign can be faster than re-sitting a whole SAT, particularly at the 2026 thresholds. At the 2027 thresholds the calculation changes: SAT Math 650 is a more forgiving target than OMPT-B 81% for most students, so compare the two before committing. CSII publishes no attempt cap, so the test provider's rules apply.

What CSII accepts instead of the OMPT, and the two-year rule

Any one maths qualification from the list satisfies the requirement: SAT Math, ACT Math, CU-AAT Math, IB HL Mathematics, A-Level Mathematics, Gaokao, HKDSE, GSAT or the Russian EGE, at the 2026 or 2027 thresholds depending on your intake. SAT, ACT, Gaokao, HKDSE and GSAT scores must have both sections from the same test date. English is a separate requirement (TOEFL iBT 80, IELTS 6.5, SAT EBRW 500, ACT English and Reading 37, CU-TEP 100, Duolingo 105 and others), with a waiver for three or more years of English-medium schooling in a listed country. If only one of the two requirements is met, an SAT composite of 1300 or a GED of 700 can cover the other.

Every score, the OMPT included, must be no more than two years old on the application deadline. Selection then weights English 20%, mathematics 30%, e-portfolio and interview 15%, team dynamics 15% and an aptitude test 20%, all of which can be done online from abroad.

CSII deadlines and how to submit the OMPT result

For the August 2026 intake the Early International Round ran from 22 December 2025 to 6 February 2026 (application, fee and scores), with a shortlist on 11 February, assessments from 16 to 20 February, the accepted list on 24 February and enrolment confirmation from 26 February to 3 March. A second International Round ran from 20 March to 1 May 2026 only because seats remained, with the final admitted list on 10 June. Thirty seats are set aside for the international rounds and the application fee is 1,500 THB.

Scores are uploaded by the applicant on the CSII Admission Platform at csiiadmission.com, and the announcement is blunt: the application is rejected if the required scores are not submitted on the platform within the application deadline. Working back from a 6 February close with about eight business days of grading, sit the OMPT-B by mid-January; for a retake in reserve, sit the first attempt in December. Tuition, and what to do if you fail the OMPT for CSII

Tuition for 2026 is 221,000 THB per semester for Thai and foreign students alike (foreign students' fee is split as 79,500 university fee plus 141,500 programme fee), 55,250 THB for a summer semester, with a 100,000 THB enrolment deposit deducted from the first semester. The programme runs one intake a year in August.

A failed OMPT-B does not end the application if another qualification on the list is within reach: at the 2026 lines, SAT Math 600 or ACT Math 25 are gentler than a second run at the B for many students, and the SAT composite 1300 fallback covers a shortfall in one requirement. If the OMPT remains your route, read the per-topic breakdown, fix the chapters it names (trigonometry and integration are the usual culprits), and rebook when a timed mock clears your target with margin and the grading lands before the round closes.
