Who has to sit the OMPT for Católica Lisbon, and who is exempt

The requirement attaches to International Student Status applicants specifically, so check which admission regulation you fall under: Portuguese and EU-schooled applicants are usually assessed on national entrance exams instead. Within the international group, the exemption list is long. CLSBE's Appendix A of eligible maths exams includes Portuguese Matemática A, UK A-level Mathematics or Further Pure, IB Mathematics AA HL or SL and AI HL, the European Baccalaureate maths papers, AP Calculus AB or BC, the German Abitur, the French Bac, the Matura, the Israeli Bagrut, the Russian EGE profile maths, Indian Mathematics, the Nepal NEB, Spanish Matemáticas II and others, at a converted mark of at least 100 out of 200.

One inconsistency to resolve with admissions: the how-to-apply page says eligible exams must have been taken between 2022 and 2026, while the 2026 call-for-applications notice says exams have no expiry date. Both are official. If your exam is older than four years, ask before assuming either way. Places under International Student Status are few (13 for Economics & Finance, 18 for Business Administration, 6 for Management & Data Analytics in 2026-27), which is one more reason to arrive with the maths settled.

Católica Lisbon OMPT deadlines and how to submit the certificate

International Student Status applicants may use only the first three rounds. In the 2026-27 cycle those were 3 December 2025 to 7 January 2026 (results 28 January), 8 January to 4 March (results 25 March) and 5 March to 29 April (results 27 May), with the application fee due within 72 hours of submitting and classes starting on 1 September. Applicants who submit later are moved to the General Regime. Expect the 2027-28 dates to follow the same shape and to appear in the autumn.

The OMPT itself had a separate submission deadline of 3 June 2026, and CLSBE warns that results can take up to five working days (standard OMPT grading is about eight business days, so plan on mid-May at the latest). When the certificate arrives, upload it on your Application Status Page; the exam cost is not covered by CLSBE. English proof is due by 3 July, academic grades by 17 July and originals by 15 October.

Tuition and programme facts for the international bachelors

All three programmes are taught in English over six semesters and 180 ECTS, one semester being a mandatory international exchange, on the Palma de Cima campus in Lisbon. For 2026-27, International Student Status students pay €858 a month for ten months in the first year (€28.60 per ECTS per instalment at 30 ECTS a semester), plus a €100 early-bird application fee until 29 April or €180 after, a €450 conditional-offer fee and €470 at enrolment. CLSBE says passing the maths test fulfils the mathematics requirement but does not guarantee a place.

Results come back as admitted, conditionally admitted, not admitted or excluded. The application grade weights 40% secondary education, 30% the maths exam, 15% the second entrance exam and 15% profile, so a strong OMPT does more here than clear a bar; it lifts the score that ranks you for a small number of places. What to do if you fail the OMPT for Católica Lisbon

Two attempts, and the 3 June wall. A first sitting in March or April leaves time to read the per-topic breakdown, fix the named chapters and sit again before mid-May; a first sitting in late May does not. If the second attempt also misses 70%, the pages say nothing about a third route beyond the eligible-exam list, so the realistic options are an eligible national exam you can still sit, the ENEM if you are Brazilian, or the next cycle.

Because the variant is not printed, a failed attempt is also the moment to double-check that you sat the letter the store assigned to your programme; a pass on the wrong variant counts for nothing.
